Light switch with timer is a great combination of light switch and light timer. More often, this amazing item is better known as light switch timer. It is being called light switch timers does not necessarily means that it works only to lights. Actually it is very helpful in many other household appliances such as electric fan, washing machine, dishwasher, and electric rice cooker and the like.
Types of light switch with timer
There are many types of timer light switch such as aquarium light timer available out there. However, basically it can be classified as three major types, namely mechanical, electrodynamics and digital light timer. And now due to its easy to use and flexibility, the digital version is becoming more and more popular these days. However, the other two is also widely applied in all kinds of applications due to its lower cost and great reliability. How to set a light switch timer?
As we just mentioned, there are three main types of light timers. When it comes to the operations, certainly they are slightly different. However, the major steps for all of them are quite similar. So here just take the normal light timer switch as an example. For other light switches, essentially they can share the same procedures as well. 1. Plug light switch with timer on to an electrical outlet that you need it to be controlled. Before doing that, please make sure the light is turned on.
2. Set the procedures according to the time you would like them to work. Before time setting, please make sure the switch is pushed to “ON”. Every tab on light timer switch and every graduation of scale on the dial represents 15 minutes. Pressing down the tabs means light timer is ready to work.
3. Rotate the dial clockwise to adjust the pointer on the light switch timer to the current time.
4. According to the time you want them to work, press down the corresponding circle of tabs.
(A) The continuous setting. For example, if you need the light to work from 10 pm at night until 6 am in the morning, press the corresponding continuous tabs;
(B) Multi-stage setting. For example, if you would like the light to work in two different intervals such as from 10 pm to 11 pm at night and then from 6 am to 7 am in the morning, press down the two corresponding sections and ignore the rest tabs.
5. Rotate the dial to test the light after everything is falling into place. If timer light switches work at the scheduled times, you have succeeded to set the time. Of course, please remember to move the pointer back to the current time after the test is done. Or the mistake on timer light switch might mess up your whole planning for next week.
